As a native of Fergus Falls, I am no stranger to Stavanger Lutheran Church. I grew up only a few miles away from the church, it was the meeting place for my 4-H club, and it was the polling place for my first election. In some ways, Stavanger has always been a part of my life. And I have been grateful to serve as an associate pastor since 2013.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul in 2010. Circumstances brought our family back to Fergus Falls. I enrolled at Lutheran Brethren Seminary after working three years in Special Education at Eden Prairie High School and Kennedy Secondary School. After enrolling I was asked to come on staff at Stavanger, and I have enjoyed it ever since.
I graduated from LBS in 2016, and it was natural for me to stay on at Stavanger. Yet our family feels the call of the mission field, and we are working with Lutheran Brethren International Missions to serve among the Hakka people of Taiwan. We know that our time at Stavanger is just a step in this process, but we have been so grateful for the support of this church community.
My wife, Sara, and I have three children: Adelaide (5), Emery (3), and Winnie (8 months). Besides Stavanger, our ministry is also to the dormitory students of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy where we currently live.

The future for our family and our ministry together looks warm and sunny, since we are planning on serving through the Lutheran Brethren International Missions as missionaries to Taiwan. We are excited to see where God is leading us, and we are excited to serve with Stavanger in reaching our local and global community with the message of Jesus Christ.
